Pillows

  • We recommend checking the care label before you start the cleaning process of a feather pillow. Let’s quickly walk you through the simple steps of washing feather pillows;
  • Look Out for Leaks or Tears
    It is a smart idea to check your pillows for holes or tears before washing them to ensure that the down or feather filling will not leak when you start washing them. Repairs can be done easily with a household sewing kit if they are torn. Pinch and lift the fabric gently to avoid stitching any filling, then use a fine needle and thread to close the opening.
    Loading Washer
  • We recommend washing your feather pillows in a front-loading washing machine. To balance it out, wash two pillows at a time. Feather pillows are delicate, thus they are best cleaned using a mild detergent. An organic or natural laundry detergent without any additives is considered suitable for the regular cleaning of pillows. Make sure that the water temperature is not too warm as warm or hot water temperatures could cause the fabric to shrink.
  • Extra Rinse Cycle for Extra Freshness
    Wash your pillows on a delicate cycle for gentle cleaning. In order to be certain that all the residual detergent is removed from the pillows, we recommend running an additional rinse cycle.
  • Drying Feather PillowsPut the pillows in a dryer at a low heat setting. Add a couple of cleantennis balls pillows. You can hand fluff your pillows during the drying process by taking them out every 15-20 minutes.

Feather and down pillows usually last for up to 5-10 years when properly cared for. Your feather pillows laying flat is a sign that they are beyond their prime. One of the best characteristics of down and feather pillows is their ability to loft back to their original shape after washing. If your pillow lays flat after washing, it might be time for a shopping trip.
